Tonight, the SeaWolves continue a six-game road trip as they look for their third straight win in the opening game of a three game series against the New Britain Rock Cats (Minnesota Twins) at New Britain Stadium. Last night, the SeaWolves held off a late charge from the Harrisburg Senators in a 5-4 win. The 'Wolves are now two games under .500 and 2.5 games behind second place Harrisburg in the EL West...The Rock Cats have dropped two straight games and are 3-7 in their last 10. The Cats dropped a 12-inning affair to Akron last night...Lefty Kelvin De La Cruz makes his 14th appearance, 12th start and second start against the Rock Cats. De La Cruz took a loss in his last start against the Rock Cats on June 9. In the game, he allowed a run on seven hits with two walks and five strikeouts in five innings of work. Erie lost the game 6-0...Lefty Aaron Thompson takes the mound for the Rock Cats making his third start and second against Erie. The 'Wolves beat Thompson on June 8 at Jerry Uht Park. That day, Thompson allowed seven runs, six earned, on eight hits with three walks and a strikeout in 4.2 innings of work. Erie won the game 9-7. Thompson is a former first round selection of the Florida Marlins in the 2005 draft...The SeaWolves have two game remaining on the road trip and will have Monday off before returning to Jerry Uht Park on Tuesday night against Bowie...The 'Wolves have not won three straight on the road this season.
