
Sobo Homers, Jackson Drives in 2 in 9-4 Loss

New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
BOWIE, MD - The Fisher Cats used a Mark Sobolewski home run and a pair of run-scoring singles from Justin Jackson to overcome a 4-0 first inning deficit on Friday night. But, the Bowie Baysox (31-34) pulled away late in a 9-4 series-opening win at Prince George's Stadium, sending the Fisher Cats to a season-worst eight straight loss.
Bowie built its early lead with three hits and a pair of walks against Joel Carreno (L; 1-4) in the bottom of the first inning.
In the second, New Hampshire (22-43) started its comeback. John Tolisano picked up an RBI on a blooper to shallow center field. In the fourth, a two-out RBI single from Jackson cut the lead in half at 4-2.
It was still 4-2 in the sixth when the Fisher Cats completed the rally. Sobolewski began the inning with a long home run to left, his 11th of the season. Kenen Bailli followed with his third hit of the game, eventually scoring on the second two-out single from Jackson to tie the game at 4-4.
Bowie would score the next five runs to put the game away. Two came across against Carreno in the seventh; Evan Englebrook allowed three in the eight to put the game away.
Jackson finished the game 2-3 with a pair of two-out runs batted in. Bailli picked up a three-hit game while Sobolewski finished 2-4. Rehabbing Blue Jays outfielder Ben Francisco went 1-4 in his first rehab game with New Hampshire.
The teams play the middle game of the series on Saturday night at Prince George's Stadium at 6:35 PM. RHP John Stilson will make his Double-A debut against Bowie RHP Tim Bascom (3-4, 4.28).
