Today, the SeaWolves look to avoid a series sweep and extending their longest losing streak of the season as they take on the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) in the final game of a four-game series at Blair County Ballpark. Last night, the ‘Wolves grabbed a three-run, eighth inning lead, only to watch it slip away in the bottom half en route to the club's fourth straight loss, 6-5 at the hands of the Curve. Erie has struggled against Altoona this season, dropping seven of the 10 meetings between the two clubs. The ‘Wolves have lost four straight and seven of the last eight against the Curve after starting the season with back-to-back wins against Altoona. Last night's loss drops the ‘Wolves back to their low-water mark at four-games under .500. Erie sits in last place in the EL West, but despite the lack of solid play over the last few days, Erie remains just three games out of first place...Erie sends right hander Mark Sorensen to the bump in the final game of the series. Sorensen is making his seventh start and second against the Curve. He took a loss against Altoona on April 29, allowing seven runs, six earned, on six hits with four walks and a strikeout. Sorensen is coming off his second win of the season in his last start against Akron. In the game, he worked six innings, allowing an unearned run on seven hits with a walk and three strikeouts. The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Erie righty...Righty Aaron Pirbanic takes the mound for the Curve making his eight appearance and seventh start. Pribanic is making his third appearance against the ‘Wolves. He beat Erie on April 29. Pribanic took a loss in his last start allowing a season-high five runs at Harrisburg.

- Altoona leads the season series over Erie 7-3. The SeaWolves and Curve meet 18 times in 2011. The two clubs are in a stretch of 10 consecutive games of the season series being played in Altoona. The Curve makes one more trip to Erie in July.

- Defensively, the SeaWolves have committed 37 errors which is second-most in the EL. The SeaWolves have not committed an error in three of their last four games.

- The SeaWolves are 12-12 in night games and 3-7 in day games.

- Erie's pitching staff is 11th in the league with a 4.61 team ERA. The SeaWolves have given up 176 runs which is the most allowed in the league.

- The SeaWolves are third in the EL with 172 runs scored.

- Erie's offense is second in the league with a .279 team batting average.

- The ‘Wolves are hitting .263 with RISP, .232 with two outs and RISP and .293 with runners on base.

- As a team, the SeaWolves are 8-for-32 with the bases loaded.

- The ‘Wolves are 4-11 on the road in 2011.

- Erie is 9-14 against the Western Division.

- Justin Henry is third in the EL with a .354 average.

- Francisco Martinez is tied for third in the EL with 25 runs scored.

- Michael Bertram is hitting .615 (16x26) against the Curve in eight games.
