TODAY: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Harrisburg Senators will meet in the finale of a four-game series...Game three of the series between the Flying Squirrels and Senators was rained out on Saturday night at The Diamond...It will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday, July 9th, beginning at 5:35 PM.

SOAKED: The Flying Squirrels had a game rained out for the third time this season as last night's schedule game with the Senators was postponed due to rain...Richmond also had games rained out 4/16 at Altoona and 5/4 at New Britain...The Flying Squirrels were the last team in the Eastern League to lose a home game to weather this season...The club had just one rainout at home in 2010 as the series-finale with New Hampshire scheduled for 8/12/10 was canceled.
TREADING WATER: The Flying Squirrels will try to avoid matching their low-water mark on the season at four games under .500...The club was last four games under .500 at 11-15 after dropping the opener of a doubleheader 5/5 at New Britain.
PUTTING IT IN PLAY: Outfielder Justin Christian was the lone Flying Squirrel to not strike out against Harrisburg starter Brad Peacock as 23-year-old fanned a career-best 14 batters on Friday night...He has struck out in just 10.3% (13K/126AB) of his at-bats this season, the lowest strikeout per at-bat percentage on the team...Christian went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored for Richmond...It was his team-leading 10th multi-hit game of the season...The 31-year-old also leads the club in runs scored (20) and stolen bases (10).
IN THE NICK OF TIME: Shortstop Nick Noonan posted a season-high three hits on Friday night, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs, and a strikeout...It was the second multi-RBI game of the season for the 22-year-old...He has hits in 18 of his 22 games played with the Flying Squirrels and is batting .368 (7-for-19) with four doubles, three RBIs, and two runs scored over his last five games, raising his batting average from .230 to .258 over that stretch...Noonan has struck out eight times and has walked four times in his last five contests...He is playing short for the first time the 21-year-old appeared at short since 2007 while with the AZL Giants...The former supplemental first-round draft pick played 21 games at shortstop in 2007 during his pro debut...He played exclusively at second base over the previous three seasons including 99 games at second with the Flying Squirrels in 2010.
BOOK 'EM DAN-O: Right-hander Dan Otero has tossed 14 2/3 consecutive scoreless innings over his last eight appearances, the second-longest scoreless streak of the season for a Flying Squirrels pitcher...The 26-year-old has struck out 17 batters and walked none while holding opponents to a .208 (11-for-53) average against over the course of the streak.
PITCHING IN: The Flying Squirrels pitching staff leads the Eastern League with a 2.97 ERA through 35 games and the club ranks third in the league with 290 strikeouts. The pitching staff has logged a league-high 324 2/3 innings of work.
HOME AND AWAY: The Flying Squirrels are in the middle of a stretch where they will play 10 of 13 games at home...Richmond is 12-7 at home and is batting .248 (161-for-648) in 19 games at The Diamond while averaging 4.16 runs per game at home (79R/19G)...Beginning May 27th, the club will start a stretch where it will play 13 of 16 games on the road...The Flying Squirrels are 4-12 on the road, and they are batting .196 (107-for-545) and averaging 3.00 runs per game (48R/16G) in 16 road contests.
