ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION... Tonight, the SeaWolves continue a four-game road trip as they take on the Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians) in the second game of a four-game series at Canal Park. Last night, the Aeros shut out the ‘Wolves 9-0. The nine-run loss tied for Erie's worst loss of the season. Trenton defeated Erie on July 3 10-1. The loss puts the SeaWolves four-games behind the first place Aeros in the EL South. Erie is a game ahead of third place Reading and 1.5 games ahead of fourth place Bowie who were both victorious on Monday. Last night's loss was the first for the SeaWolves in a series opener Since July 4 at Binghamton...The SeaWolves continued their road woes last night as the club's record dropped to 20-28 away from Jerry Uht Park. The ‘Wolves are 5-6 in their last 11 road games and are 2-3 at Canal Park...Since losing nine straight, Akron has won two of its last three games against Erie...Casper Wells has hit safely in a season-high and career-high 15 straight games. His previous career-best hitting streak was in 2008 when he hit safely in nine straight games twice with Erie. During the streak, he is hitting .379 (22x58) with four home runs and 14 RBI He has five two-hit games, and one three-hit game and has raised his batting average from .212 to .269 during the streak...RHP Luis Marte has been transferred to the Erie disabled list. LHP Kris Regas has been transferred from Triple-A Toledo to Erie. The ‘Wolves now have a season-high six players on the DL...The SeaWolves are looking to avoid back-to-back losses to Akron for the first time this season. Erie has dropped two straight at Canal Park...Akron's team ERA is 1.17 higher than its season average in 16 games vs. Erie.

- Erie leads the season series over Akron 12-4. The SeaWolves and Aeros meet 27 times in 2009. It is the most times Erie will face an opponent this season.

- Alex Avila is second in the league throwing out potential base stealers at a clip of 45.1 percent.
