Tonight, the SeaWolves look to avoid a series sweep as they attempt to snap a six-game losing streak, taking on the Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians) in the final game of a three game series at Canal Park. Last night, the SeaWolves comeback efforts fell short in the middle game of the series as they went down by a count of 4-2. It was the first time since the first two games of the season series that the Aeros have been able to win consecutive games against the 'Wolves....Amazingly, as poorly as Erie has played in July, the team is still just 6.5 games behind the two clubs leading the wildcard Richmond and Bowie...Tonight, James Avery takes the mound for the SeaWolves making his 20th start of the season and fourth against the Aeros. Avery is 0-2 with a no-decision in his previous three starts against Akron.Avery earned his 10th win in his last start against Altoona on July 20. In the game, he shut out the Curve for five innings allowing four hits with two walks and five strikeouts. Erie won the game 3-0...The Aeros send lefty Giovanni Soto to the mound making his 20th start and fifth against the SeaWolves. Soto took a loss in his last start agianst Richmond on July 20 allowing three runs, two earned, on five hits in five innings. He tossed a no-hitter against Altoona on July 15 at Canal Park. Soto is 0-4 with a 6.23 ERA in his four previous starts against the SeaWolves...The 'Wolves return home tomorrow as they host the Richmond Flying Squirrels (San Francisco Giants) in a four-game series.
