New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Kevin Howard wrapped up a strong series in Harrisburg, going 3-4 with four RBI to power the Fisher Cats (41-64) to an 8-3 win on Wednesday afternoon. Howard finished the three-game set with six hits and 6 RBI, helping the Fisher Cats take two of three from the Senators to begin a seven-game road trip.

Howard's big day began in the first inning with a two-out RBI double to plate Jake Marisnick for an early 1-0 lead. Brad Glenn followed with a single to score Howard for a 2-0 advantage.

In the fifth, leading 3-2, Howard figured into another rally, drawing back-to-back one-out walks with Marisnick. After a strikeout and a double steal, Kenen Bailli stroked a two-out single to right to push the lead back to three runs at 5-2.

Ryan Tepera kept the 5-2 lead through five innings for New Hampshire, improving his record to 4-1 on the year. He allowed two runs on seven hits, striking out two and issuing two walks. He's 2-0 since his return to Double-A.

Howard added to his day with an RBI single in the seventh, plating Marisnick for the third time on the day. A two-run single by Howard, again with two outs, in the eighth gave the Fisher Cats their winning margin at 8-3.

Howard's three hits sparked a 13-hit day for the Fisher Cats with eight of nine starters tallying a base knock. Goins joined Howard with three hits, picking up five over the final two games of the set. Marisnick, after going 0-7 to start the series, was plunked twice, walked twice, and had a single to reach base in all five plate appearances.

The Fisher Cats now begin the second leg of their road trip in Altoona on Thursday night at 7 PM. RHP Yohan Pino (5-5, 3.96) takes the ball in the series opener against Altoona RHP Phil Irwin (2-7, 3.43). Radio coverage begins at 6:45 PM with Tom Gauthier on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network and www.nhfishercats.com.
