Des Moines, IA - Curtis Stinson scored 23 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and handed out 11 assists while Jeff Trepagnier registered a team-high 24 points as the Iowa Energy defeated the Utah Flash 101-91 Friday night in Des Moines. The win forces a deciding game three Sunday at 4 PM at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
Coming off a 31 point defeat Wednesday in Utah, Iowa jumped out to an early 25-18 lead after the 1st quarter behind Stinson's nine early points. The Energy extended the lead to 48-34 at the half, and appeared to be in control of the game.
Utah battled back in the 3rd quarter as Gabe Pruitt scored 11 points in the frame, including a jump shot with :04 left in the quarter to draw the visitors to within two points. The Flash opened the 4th quarter with a quick 5-0 spurt behind a 3-pointer from Kevin Kruger and a layup from Jordan Brady to take a three point lead. The Energy immediately responded with an 11-0 run to take a commanding 82-74 lead with 7:56 remaining in the game.
Iowa knocked down 5 of 6 free throws in the final two minutes of the game to force the deciding Game 3 on Sunday at 4pm.

The Energy outrebounded Utah 47-41 in the game and only had 12 turnovers in the game.
Kruger led Utah with 28 points on the night, including six 3-pointers.
