Energy Clinch Top Seed For 2010 D-League Playoffs

April 1, 2010 - NBA G League (G League)
Iowa Wolves News Release

Des Moines, IA, Apr. 1, 2010 - The Iowa Energy didn't play last night, but that didn't stop them from clinching the #1 seed for the upcoming NBA D-League playoffs. Thanks to an Idaho Stampede victory over the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Energy are assured of home court advantage throughout the playoffs.

The Energy, currently 36-12, travel to Oklahoma for a pair of games with the Tulsa 66ers Friday and Saturday. Tulsa is currently 1 game ahead of Reno for the 8th and final playoff spot with three games remaining.

The D-League playoffs are expected to begin Wednesday, April 7th. Each series is a "best-of-three" format, meaning the team to win two games first advances. The higher seeds will head on the road for game one, and return home for games two and three (if necessary). In addition to home court advantage, the top seed also allows the Energy to select their first round opponent from teams seeded five through eight. That selection will occur on Sunday evening.

Iowa's first home playoff game will be held Friday, April 9th at 7pm at Wells Fargo Arena. If game three is necessary, it would be played on Sunday, April 11th at 4pm.

Tickets for the playoff games will go on sale Friday, April 2nd at 8am. You can purchase tickets by calling 515-564-8550, visiting iowanba.com or at the Wells Fargo Arena box office. Single game tickets will be sold at the same price as regular season tickets, $20 for sidelines, $12 for end zones and $8 for upper end zones.

The Energy are offering "2010 Playoff Packages" that include reserved tickets for all six home game and a free Energy t-shirt for just $49 (end zone) or $79 (sideline). If the Energy do not play six home games, a pro-rated portion of your purchase will be credited towards 2010-2011 season tickets or mini-plans.

To purchase the package, call 515-564-8550.
