Eugene Emeralds News Release

The Emeralds seal the series win against the Everett Aquasox and break the three-straight series tie streak 6-1.

It was deja vu all over again for the Ems as they would score a run in the first inning on an RBI sacrifice fly by C Pat Bailey to give them the 1-0 lead.

In the next inning, they would drive in three more runs on an RBI single by RF Vaun Brown to score 2B Jimmy Glowenke, an RBI single by CF Luis Matos to cash in LF Najee Gaskins and an RBI sac fly by SS Casey Schmitt to make it 4-0.

The Aquasox scored their lone run of the game on an RBI single by CF Victor Labrada to drive in C David Sheaffer 4-1.

The score would stay the same until the ninth inning when Schmitt punched in two runs on a two-out two RBI double to score Glowenke and Gaskins to seal the win 6-2.

The Emeralds will have an opportunity to sweep the Aquasox tomorrow with a win. First pitch is at 4:05 PM, 3:50 pregame show on 95.3 The Score and on MiLB.TV.
