Elmira Adds Two to Roster

ELMIRA, NY - November 17, 2015 - The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and the AHL's Rochester Americans, announced today that forward Allan McPherson has been assigned to Elmira from Rochester and goaltender Niklas Lundstrom has been assigned to the Jackals by the St. Louis Blues.

McPherson, 24, returns to the Jackals after appearing in eight games with the Americans. He has recorded three points (one goal, two assists) in two games with the Jackals this season. Last season, the Kinburn, Ontario native notched 23 points (eight goals, 15 assists) in 24 games with the Jackals and added eight points (three goals, five assists) in 44 games with Rochester. McPherson also skated in five contests with the AHL's Abbotsford Heat at the end of the 2013-14 season following the conclusion of his collegiate career at Clarkson University, where he amassed 103 points (41 goals, 62 assists) in 150 NCAA games.

Lundstrom, 22, joins the Jackals on assignment from the St. Louis Blues organization. A fifth round selection (#132 overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Lundstrom played his first professional season in North American last year, splitting time between the Alaska Aces and the Chicago Wolves. He posted a 17-16-2 record with a 3.05 goals-against-average and an .895 save percentage as a member of the Aces in addition to appearing in one game for Chicago stopping all six shots he faced. The Varmdo, Sweden native previously played for AIK in Sweden and competed internationally for his home country in the World Juniors, winning a silver medal with the U20 squad in 2012-13 and a silver medal with the U18 team in 2010-11.

Additionally, the Jackals have placed goaltender Sam Marotta on the 21-day IR retroactive to November 11th. Elmira has also placed forwards Matt Harlow and Nick Zappia on reserve.
