Toledo's Jenks Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - A.J. Jenks of the Toledo?Walleye is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Nov. 9-15.

Jenks scored four goals and added three assists for seven points in three games at Manchester last week.

The 25-year-old had a goal and two assists in a 5-4 loss at on?Friday, recorded two goals and an assist in a 6-2 win on?Saturday and had a goal in a 4-3 shootout loss on Sunday.

A native of Wolverine?Lake, Mich., Jenks has posted 10 points (5g-5a) in 12 games this season.

Selected by the Florida Panthers in the fourth round (100th overall) of the 2008 NHL?Entry Draft, Jenks has 79 points (43g-36a) in 122 career ECHL?games with Toledo, Florida and Cincinnati. He has added 44 points (17g-27a) in 178 career American?Hockey League games with Rochester, San Antonio and Charlotte.

Prior to turning pro, Jenks played 249 career games in the Ontario Hockey League with Plymouth, tallying 193 points (79g-114a).

On behalf of A.J. Jenks, a case of pucks will be donated to a Toledo youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 33,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
