Montgomery Biscuits News Release
MONTGOMERY - The Tampa Bay Rays have announced a roster move affecting the Montgomery Biscuits.
Center fielder Rashad Eldridge, who pulled an external oblique muscle in Saturday's 9-7 win over the Mobile BayBears, has been placed on the disabled list, retroactive to June 15.
Eldridge had been one of the Biscuits' biggest offensive threats, leading the club in batting average (.301), on-base percentage (.396), runs (40), and stolen bases (13). He had been the Biscuits' everyday leadoff man and center fielder.
It is unclear how long he will remain on the disabled list, but Minor League rules dictate that he must be on the DL for at least seven days. The injury mat take several weeks to heal.
The Biscuits' roster stands at 23 active players, with four on the disabled list.
