
Eight Teams Compete in Admirals High School Hockey Showdown

Milwaukee, WI - Milwaukee Admirals Governor/CEO Harris Turer announced today that the team will host the Milwaukee Admirals High School Hockey Showdown, presented by Bradley Corporation from December 27th through December 29th. For the second straight year the Showdown will include eight schools from the metro Milwaukee area with games taking place at Wilson Park and the Bradley Center. The showdown is once again held in conjunction with a pair of 7:00 pm Admirals games on December 28 and 29.
Cedarburg, Germantown, Kenosha, Mequon Homestead, University School of Milwaukee, Marquette University High School, Whitefish Bay/Nicolet/Shorewood and Hartland Arrowhead High School will each play three games and all of the squads will play one of their games on the Bradley Center ice.
The Showdown will kick off with four games at Wilson Park (1601 W. Howard Ave) beginning at 9:00 am on Monday, December 27. Games will continue on the 27th at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 3:00 pm. On December 28th, two of the contests will be held at the Bradley Center and two at Wilson Park. The Championship Game will take place on Wednesday, December 29 at 2:46 pm at the Bradley Center. In the opening round of the tournament top seeded Marquette will square off with Germantown, Arrowhead plays WNS, University School faces off against Kenosha and Homestead battles Cedarburg.
The Championship team will then be honored during the Admirals game versus the Houston Aeros on Wednesday evening. In addition, the Admirals will make a $1,000 donation to each of the teams participating in the showdown.
All of the games to The Showdown are free to attend. For Bradley Center games, fans should enter the building through Lobby A, with doors opening at 11:30 am on the 28th and 29th. The Championship Game will also be replayed on Channel 32 sports on Time Warner Cable in Southeast Wisconsin the following week.
This is the fifth season of high school hockey at the Bradley Center and the first with Bradley Corporation as the presenting sponsor. University School, who won the WIAA title last season, is the defending champions.
The Admirals are off until Friday when they take the ice against Lake Erie at 7:00 pm at the Bradley Center. Fans can purchase tickets by calling Ticketmaster or logging on to milwaukeeadmirals.com .
