Canucks Assign Guillaume Desbiens to Moose

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, today announced they have assigned forward Guillaume Desbiens to the Moose.

Desbiens, 25, has played in 12 games so far this season with the Canucks where he's recorded no points and 10 penalty minutes. The Alma, PQ native has scored 93 points (45g, 48a) and 457 penalty minutes in 225 AHL games with Chicago and Manitoba in his six-year professional career. His best AHL season came in 2008-09 with the Moose when he scored 47 points (21g, 26a) in 78 games. The following season, he was named the winner of the team's Unsung Hero Award.

Desbiens was originally drafted by Atlanta in the fourth round, 116th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
