Edgerton's Eighth Inning Shot Gives Rome the Win 5-4

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves defeated the West Virginia Power Saturday night at State Mutual Stadium 5-4 before 3,983 fans.

Rome made it a 1-0 game in the first on a two out RBI single by Tanner Krietemeier but the Power tied the game in the second on a fielding error by Ozzie Albies. The Braves took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the inning thanks to run scoring singles by Joseph Daris and Ozzie Albies. West Virginia tied the contest in the fourth on a wild pitch to score a run and a single by Elvis Escobar to plate another making it a 3-3 score.

Rome took the lead for good in the eighth when Omar Obregon singled after two outs and Jordan Edgerton connected on a two run home run to left for the 5-3 advantage. The Power scored a run in the ninth but reliever Kyle Kinman shut them down the rest of the way for the 5-4 win.

Fernando Miranda (1-0) gets to the win while Julio Vivas (0-1) is tagged with the loss. Kinman (8) records the save.
