Eberle Honored For ECHL Officiating Career

PRINCETON, N.J. -ECHL linesman Norm Eberle will be honored by Commissioner Emeritus Patrick J. Kelly in a ceremony held prior to the Gwinnett at South Carolina game on Saturday.

In his 16th season as an on-ice official for the ECHL, Eberle worked in the league from 1989-2000 and returned in 2001, officiating more than 1,200 regular season games since his first game in Roanoke, Va. in October 1989.

"On behalf of the League office and our ECHL member clubs, we are pleased to recognize Norm on his remarkable achievement," said ECHL Vice President of Hockey Operations Rod Pasma. "His years of service with the ECHL's officiating department are unparalleled."

Eberle has worked 80 games in the postseason for the ECHL, including the Riley Cup Finals in 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993 and 1996 and the first-ever Kelly Cup Finals in 1997. He was also chosen to work the ECHL All-Star Game in Charlotte, N.C. in 1996.
