The San Jose Earthquakes are preparing for their first road match of the season against the Philadelphia Union at Subaru Park on Saturday, March 14 at 4:30 p.m. PT. The match will be broadcast live on NBC Sports California+, KNBR 1050 and 1370 KZSF. More information can be found here.

San Jose were defeated by Minnesota United FC 5-2 on Saturday evening at Earthquakes Stadium. The match saw the MLS debut of Quakes forward Cade Cowell, who at 16 years and 150 days, became the youngest player to debut in club history and fifth youngest in league history.

The Quakes got goals from Magnus Eriksson and Vako, both of whom tallied their first goal of the season. Eriksson, who converted on a penalty, is now perfect five for five from the penalty spot in his MLS career.

Record vs. Philadelphia Union

The Quakes currently hold a 4-4-4 record vs. the Philadelphia Union in 12 MLS matches between the two sides.

San Jose has earned at least one point in three of its last four trips to Philadelphia (1-1-2), including draws in each of the last two road meetings.

Salinas Approaching History

Shea Salinas enters Saturday's matchup against Philadelphia with 46 assists in his Quakes career, just one behind San Jose's all-time leader Ronald Cerritos (47). Salinas needs just one more assist to tie Cerritos' mark, and two to surpass it for a new franchise record. Salinas is currently tied for fifth all-time in assists vs. Philadelphia, with five thus far.

MLS Debut

Cade Cowell made his MLS debut, entering as a halftime substitute. Cowell, at 16 years and 150 days old, became the youngest player to make an MLS appearance in Earthquakes history and fifth-youngest player in league history.

Magnus Eriksson scored by way of a penalty kick, marking his first goal of the season and the 13th of his MLS career. He has now converted five of five penalty kicks in his MLS career.

Climbing the Charts

Vako scored his first goal of the season and 24th of his MLS career. Vako is now one goal shy of Brian Ching for the fifth most goals in Quakes history (25).
