San Jose Earthquakes News Release
SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes (1-1-0; 3 pts.) will play their second home match of the season tonight against D.C. United (1-1-0; 3 pts.), presented by PayPal. The match kicks off from PayPal Park at 8 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on NBC Sports California, KNBR 1050 and 1370 KZSF.
San Jose and D.C. United, who are facing off for the first time since June 2019, both enter Saturday sitting in sixth place in their respective conference with a 1-1-0 record. The Earthquakes hold an overall record of 17-15-8 in regular season play against D.C., carrying an 8-5-7 record at home.
The Earthquakes are looking to build on their most recent result, a 3-1 victory over FC Dallas on April 24. Seventeen-year-old Cade Cowell tallied a goal and an assist to become the sixth youngest player in MLS history to accomplish the feat in a single match. Read more about his breakout performance here.
Last Saturday, the Quakes welcomed fans back to the newly renamed PayPal Park for the first time in over a year, marking the first professional sporting event in Santa Clara County with fans since March 2020. The Quakes will maintain the same 20% attendance capacity (~3,600 fans) for this Saturday night's contest.
