Earthquakes Goalkeeper Emi Ochoa Called to U-16 Mexico National Team

SAN JOSE, Calif. - San Jose Earthquakes goalkeeper Emi Ochoa has been called to participate in the Mexico Youth National Team training camp from April 24-May 1 in Mexico City, Mexico.

Ochoa, 15, signed a Homegrown Player contract with San Jose prior to the 2020 season, becoming the eighth product of the Quakes Academy to sign a professional contract with the first team. At 14 years and 191 days at the time of his signing, he is the youngest player to sign a Homegrown Player contract in Major League Soccer history.

Ochoa, of Mexican descent, has previously received call-ups for the United States at the U-14 and U-15 levels, as well as the Mexico U-16s.

After competing for the Quakes Academy Boys' U-15 squad last year, the Salinas, Calif. native now trains with the first team.
