Early York Runs Haunt the Blue Crabs in Loss

(Waldorf MD, August 8th 2015)---York banged 18 hits, the highest against amount against Southern Maryland this season as they cruised to the 9-1 victory.

Everyone in the Revolution starting lineup had at least one hit, as LHP Brian Burres was chased from the game after just 3.2 innings pitched. York got the scoring started in the bottom of the first. With two runners on base, Bryan Pounds singled back up the middle to score Constanza, and Valdez to make it 2-0.

In the top of the second, Southern Maryland scored their only run. Casey Frawley cut the lead in half driving a homerun over the wall in left to make it 2-1. In the bottom of the second, Andres Perez lashed a single to left to start the rally. Luis De La Cruz then singled to put two runners on base. Burres uncorked a wild pitch to score Perez. Wilson Valdez walked to the plate and singled to score Luis De La Cruz to make it 4-0. Eric Patterson then walked to the plate and singled to right to score Constanza to make it 5-0.

York continued the scoring in the bottom of the fourth. Brandon Boggs homered to make it 6-0. Mikey Reynolds later scored on a wild pitch to make it 7-0. The Revolution added a run in the bottom of the sixth, and seventh to make it 9-1 on an otherwise dominating performance offensively.

RHP Rommie Lewis picked up the victory on the mound going seven innings, allowing a run on seven hits, and striking out four. The combination of Boggs, Pounds, and Reynolds went 6-14 with three RBIs. Andres Perez and Jose Constanza each banged out four hits apiece.

These two teams will meet for game three of the series tomorrow night at 6:30 P.M. LHP Frank Gailey (2-3, 1.83) will throw for York, while RHP Daryl Thompson (4-2, 2.77) will toss for Southern Maryland.
