Friday, January 14 Eagles 5 vs. Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees 1

Colorado continued their dominance over the Bees with a 5-1 victory at the Dodge Arena Friday night. The Eagles are now 4-0 all-time against the Bees and have out scored them by an astounding mark of 20-2 in those four games. Ryan Tobler scored two power play goals including the game winner, and Tyler Weiman saved 28 of 29 shots.

Saturday, January 15 Eagles 2 @ Laredo Bucks 0

Tyler Weiman recorded his league-leading seventh shutout of the season in a 2-0 victory over the defending champion Laredo Bucks at the Laredo Entertainment Center. Ryan Tobler recorded his second straight game-winning goal when he scored at the 10:03 mark of the third period, and Greg Pankewicz added an empty netter for his team-leading 22nd goal of the season. The Eagles are now 1-1 against the Bucks all-time.

Sunday, January 16 Eagles 4 @ Corpus Christi Rayz 1

Colorado won their seventh straight game tying the franchise record, and their fifth consecutive game on the road, also tying a franchise record. Mike Lephart scored two goals as the Eagles took over first place in the Northwest Division for the first time since October. Tyler Weiman saved 26 of 27 shots for his 10th-consecutive win.

The Northwest Division rivals meet for the seventh time this season. After losing the first two games of the series in overtime, the Eagles have reeled off four consecutive victories over the Scorpions. Center Riley Nelson scored four goals setting a team record in a 5-2 victory on December 22. The Eagles have out scored the Scorpions 21-13 this season.

In the biggest game of the season to date, the two top teams in the CHL meet for the sixth of seven meetings at the Budweiser Events Center. Wichita holds the edge this season, going 3-2 against the Eagles. The Eagles are 2-2-1 against the Thunder and lost the last game in overtime when Wichita scored a goal with 53 seconds remaining in regulation, and then at the 1:21 mark of the overtime period. In a battle of what might be the top first lines in the CHL; Wichita's Duda, Clayton, and Blaznek vs. Colorado's Tobler, Nelson, and Pankewicz. As of now the Eagles hold one point edge in the standings and regained first place in the Northwest division for the first time since October.

The Eagles and Brahmas meet for the first time this season, fourth time in history. Colorado won all three games in 2003-04 against the Brahmas by a combined score of 14-4. The Eagles are 2-0 against Fort Worth at the Budweiser Events Center. The teams will play one more time, the last game of the season on March 19th in Fort Worth.

Top Spot- The Eagles took over the top spot in the Northwest Division and in the CHL with their 4-1 win over the Corpus Christi Rayz on Sunday evening. They are now one point ahead of the Wichita Thunder for the top spot. It is the first time since the Eagles were 3-0 in October that the team has been in first.

Tour of Texas- The Eagles finished the five-game road trip of Texas winning all five games and tied a franchise record with their fifth consecutive win on the road. They have a chance to extend their road-winning streak when they take on the Topeka Tarantulas on January 28th at the Kansas ExpoCentre in Topeka.

Seven and Counting...- The Eagles tied the franchise record of seven-consecutive wins Sunday night. The last time the Eagles won seven games in-a-row was at the end of last season, from 2/29/04-3/12/04. They will try to win number eight on Wednesday night against the New Mexico Scorpions, the game will be televised regionally on Altitude Sports & Entertainment.

League Leaders- Colorado leads the league in multiple categories. They lead the league in goals against (2.03), shots for per game (35.26), and power play percentage (91.6).

Eagles on Altitude- The game on Wednesday, January 19th against the New Mexico Scorpions will be televised on Altitude Sports & Entertainment. Pending the NHL Lock-out, there will possibly be two more games on February 12th and 26th.

Pankewicz, Eagles Fly High in All-Star Game- Eagles right winger Greg Pankewicz stole the show at the 2005 Dodge CHL All-Star Game Wednesday night. Pankewicz broke the record for the most points in an All-Star Game with nine, and broke the record with five goals. He also won the hardest shot competition with a laser that was recorded at 91 mph. Left wing Kevin Marsh had the second most points for the Northern Conference with five (1G, 4A). Not to be outdone, goaltender Tyler Weiman stopped 19 of 21 shots in the first period for the Northern Conference.

Off to the Hall of Fame- Greg Pankewicz's #89 All-Star jersey was given to the Hockey Hall of Fame after his record breaking night at the 2005 Dodge CHL All-Star Game.

One to Go- With one more shutout, Eagles goaltender Tyler Weiman will tie the Central Hockey League record of eight shutouts in a season. He recorded his seventh shutout of the season on Saturday night in a 2-0 win over the Laredo Bucks. Up to this point in the season, Weiman has played in 28 games and has shutout his opponent a remarkable 25% of the time.

Brick Wall- Tyler Weiman has won 10 straight games, and leads the CHL in nearly all major statistical categories for goaltenders.

GAA- 1.58 – 1st in CHL
Save %- .946 – 1st in CHL

Streaks- Riley Nelson- Currently on a 12-game scoring streak in which he has eight goals and 10 assists for 18 points.

Greg Pankewicz- Also on a 12-game scoring streak where he has scored 27 points on 10 goals and 17 assists.

Ryan Tobler- Four-game scoring streak on five goals and two assist for seven points, including two GWG.
