Colorado Eagles News Release
WINDSOR, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles announced today that they have signed a pair of forwards with offensive pedigree in Scott May and Dylan Stanley. The signings bring the number of players under contract with the team during their currently-occurring camp to 26 (listed below).
May, a seventh-round draft pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2002, has spent 209 games at the AHL and ECHL levels since leaving Ohio State University where he registered 116 points (46-70-116) over four seasons and 161 games. The 6-foot, 195-pound forward has spent the past two seasons playing in Germany and Italy respectively.
May was a teammate of former-Eagle Brad Williamson in 2008-09 and will be reunited with new-Eagle Daymen Rycroft, who he called a teammate and roommate while in college. In his 209 professional games recognized by the Central Hockey League, the right-handed shooter has registered 124 points (51-73-124) and 180 penalty minutes. In his two years of European hockey, his production increased to 80 points (28-52-80) over 63 games.
Stanley's name may be recognized by Eagles fans familiar with the Canadian reality TV series, "Making The Cut: Last Man Standing," as he was a part of the hockey show's second season (former-Eagles netminder Mike Mole was a winner on the first season). The 5-foot-10-inch, 182-pound forward has played a total of 13 games in professional leagues recognized by the CHL -- putting up six points in parts of two seasons in the ECHL -- but has plenty of experience.
In five seasons in the Western Hockey League, Stanley recorded 280 points (113-167-280) in 339 games with the Tri-City Americans. He then went on to play three years with the University of Alberta, where he won two national championships (in 2006 & 2008) while posting 128 points (50-78-128) in 108 games. Over the past two seasons, the right-handed shooter has racked up 148 points (57-91-148) in just 82 games with the Rosenheim Star Bulls of the German Oberliga -- highlighted by a 118-point campaign in 2008-09.
The puck drops on the 2010-11 season on Saturday, Oct. 9 when the Eagles take on the Odessa Jackalopes in a preseason game at the Budweiser Events Center (BEC); the regular season begins on Friday, Oct. 15. Individual Tickets for all Eagles home games are on sale now and can be purchased by visiting the BEC Box Office, calling 1-877-544-TIXX (8499) or online at www.ComcastTix.com. Special group rates are also available by calling the Eagles' office at 970-686-SHOT (7468).
