RiverKings Training Camp Is Underway

SOUTHAVEN, MS --- The Mississippi RiverKings of the Central Hockey League (CHL) have begun training camp for the franchise's 19th season of hometown professional hockey. Practices are being held at the DeSoto Civic Center and the schedule for training camp can be found on the RiverKings' web site at www.riverkings.com. 24 players are on the training camp roster for Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin "Killer" Kaminski.

Opening night rosters must be down to the maximum of 19 by Thursday, October 14th. The RiverKings' first contest of the regular season is Friday, October 15th at Bossier-Shreveport, followed by the home opener on Saturday, October 16th, also against Bossier-Shreveport, at the DCC, beginning at 7:05 PM.

Mississippi takes part in three pre-season games this year before the start of the regular season. The RiverKings will host Bossier-Shreveport in games on Saturday, October 9th at 6:05 PM and again Sunday, October 10th at 3:05 PM at the DCC. Mississippi will also travel to play the first-year Evansville IceMen on Monday, October 11th, a game played at 7:05 PM at the Swonder Ice Arena in Evansville.

Also on the schedule for the pre-season weekend against Bossier-Shreveport will be a RiverKings Fan Club 5K run/walk event for the Assists for Autism program at 9:00 AM (registration starts at 7:30 AM), followed by a Fan Fest event with food, bounce house fun for kids, and more on the DCC grounds during the day prior to Saturday's 6:05 PM faceoff.
