Dynamo face RSL on Saturday in first home game since August 23

HOUSTON, TX (Friday, September 18, 2009) -- The Houston Dynamo return to Robertson Stadium for their first home game since August 23 tomorrow when they host Real Salt Lake at 7:30 p.m. The Dynamo will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Night, presented by Budweiser, and give away orange Dynamo caps to the first 7,500 fans over the age of 21. The first 2,500 kids under the age of 14 will receive hand fans, courtesy of Zhu Zhu Pets. Fans can also enjoy post-game fireworks.

The match can be seen on KHOU 11.2 and TV Informa and heard on 850 AM La Ranchera. It is the first of six consecutive home games for the Dynamo over the next 30 days.

The Dynamo (11-8-7, 40 points) still lead the Western Conference by two points over the Los Angeles Galaxy but are looking for their first MLS win since August 9 (0-2-2). The Dynamo and Real Salt Lake have tied each of their previous meetings this year, 1-1 in Houston on June 20 and 0-0 in Sandy, Utah, on August 15. The Dynamo are led by goalkeeper Pat Onstad, midfielder Stuart Holden, and forward Brian Ching. Midfielder Ricardo Clark is unavailable for the game due to suspension, and midfielder Danny Cruz is unavailable while with the U.S. U-20 national team preparing for the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Real Salt Lake (9-9-7, 34 points) remains in contention for a playoff spot and is unbeaten (2-0-1) in its last three games. RSL is tied with the Dynamo and Colorado Rapids for the best goal differential (+8) in the Western Conference and is led by forwards Robbie Findley and Yura Movsisyan and midfielders Kyle Beckerman, Will Johnson, and Javier Morales. Defender Tony Beltran is unavailable due to suspension.

The Dynamo continue their homestand with a must-win CONCACAF Champions League game against Panamanian club Árabe Unido on Tuesday night at 9:00 p.m. at Robertson Stadium. $5 tickets are available at HoustonDynamo.com.
