Sacramento River Cats News Release
Oklahoma City, Okla. - A seven-run third was too much to overcome as the Sacramento River Cats (40-51) fell 10-4 at the Oklahoma City Dodgers (53-38) in the second-half opener on Friday.
Tied at one in the third, the Dodgers stormed Sacramento lefty Enmanuel De Jesus (3-3) with four walks, two singles, and a sacrifice fly before righty Patrick Ruotolo entered and was burned by catcher Hunter Feduccia's grand slam.
Third baseman Isan Díaz and first baseman Jason Vosler shined offensively for Sacramento.
Díaz scored the game's first run on an RBI groundout by catcher Jhonny Pereda in the second, launched his 17th homer, a solo shot in the fifth off righty Jon Duplantier, and singled in the ninth to go 3-for-5.
Vosler, who ended the first half with a home run on Sunday, extended his team-high hitting streak to 13 on Friday, going 2-for-5 with a two-run home run off Duplantier in the sixth. The 28-year-old is 18-for-53 (.340) with 13 runs, seven home runs, 17 RBIs, and a 1.200 OPS since June 30.
Rehabbing San Francisco second baseman Tommy La Stella went 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout in his first game since hitting the injured list on July 8.
First baseman Jason Krizan, who came off the bench for La Stella in the sixth, extended his on-base streak to 16 and hitting streak to nine with an eighth-inning single. The 33-year-old is 24-for-59 (.407) with 16 runs, 10 RBIs, and a 1.092 OPS since June 12.
Right-hander Raynel Espinal (5-4, 4.90) will try to stop the River Cats' three-game skid with a victory on Saturday. He'll take on young righty Michael Grove (0-2, 6.08) at 5:05 p.m. (PT). Listen to Johnny Doskow call the game online at rivercats.com or on the MiLB First Pitch app.
Additional Notes
Lefty Aaron Fletcher struck out one and walked one in a scoreless inning for his River Cats debut.
Right-hander Gregory Santos, the Giants' No. 14 prospect on MLB Pipeline, struck out one and walked one in a scoreless seventh inning.
