Today's Game: The Oklahoma City Dodgers return from the four-day Pacific Coast League All-Star Break to open a nine-game homestand and three-game series against the Sacramento River Cats at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark...Today begins the first ¡Celebración Cielo Azul! of the season and the Dodgers will take the field as Cielo Azul de Oklahoma City and the River Cats will play as the Dorados de Sacramento through Sunday as part of Minor League Baseball's Copa de la Diversión, or Fun Cup.

Last Game: The Tacoma Rainiers used seven walks to score six runs and came back from a three-run deficit to beat the Oklahoma City Dodgers, 6-3, last Sunday afternoon at Cheney Stadium. The Dodgers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning with RBI doubles by Hunter Feduccia and Tony Wolters and a RBI single by Drew Avans. Tacoma scored once in the second inning and still trailed, 3-1, in the fifth inning when the Rainiers scored four runs while collecting just one hit. The Rainiers drew four walks in the inning and also had a hit batter as part of the rally. Tacoma again scored in the sixth inning without a hit, capitalizing on a walk, a stolen base and a wild pitch. The Dodgers were limited to one hit following the second inning, with 22 of the final 24 batters retired by the Rainiers pitching staff.

Today's Probable Pitchers: Dustin May joins the OKC Dodgers on a Major League Rehab Assignment...May started five games for the Los Angeles Dodgers last season before tearing his right ulnar collateral ligament May 1 at Milwaukee and undergoing Tommy John surgery 10 days later...He made his first outing of the rehab assignment July 16 with the Arizona Complex League Dodgers against the ACL White Sox, pitching 2.0 scoreless and hitless innings. May retired six of seven batters during his first game action in more than 14 months...In five starts for the Los Angeles Dodgers last season, May went 1-1 and posted a 2.74 ERA with six walks and 35 strikeouts over 23.0 innings and held opponents to a .186 average prior to his injury...Since making his ML debut in 2019, May has made 31 appearances (19 starts) for the LA Dodgers, going 6-5 with a 2.93 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and .222 BAA...He pitched in seven playoff games in 2020 as the Dodgers went on to win the World Series, posting a 1-0 record and 4.22 ERA over 10.2 postseason innings...May last pitched for the OKC Dodgers during the 2019 season, making five starts...The right-handed pitcher from Justin, Texas was drafted by Los Angeles in the 3rd round (101st overall) of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft out of Northwest High School.

Jon Duplantier (4-1) is scheduled to follow May...He most recently pitched July 13 in Tacoma with 4.0 scoreless innings. He allowed two hits and one walk with three strikeouts in OKC's 8-1 win. He retired 12 of the 15 batters he faced and did not factor into the decision...Since moving into the starting rotation June 24, Duplantier is 0-1 and the team is 3-1 in his starts. He's allowed six runs and 12 hits over 15.2 innings...Right-handed batters are hitting just .132, but lefties are hitting .275. He's holding all batters to a .176 clip with runners on base...Duplantier was selected by the Dodgers from the Giants in the minor league phase of the Rule 5 Draft Dec. 8, 2021 after he had signed with the Giants just four days prior as a minor league free agent...He was selected in the third round of the 2016 MLB Draft by Arizona out of Rice University.

Against the River Cats: 2022: 3-3 2021: 2-4 All-time: 45-52 At OKC: 21-27 The Dodgers and River Cats are meeting for their second series of the season and first in OKC...The teams played a six-game series in Sacramento April 19-24, splitting the series, 3-3. The River Cats closed out the series with back-to-back wins as the teams met in Sacramento for the first time since the 2018 season. Andy Burns led the Dodgers with five RBI in the initial series, tying Eddy Alvarez with two home runs. Sacramento outscored OKC, 34-25, over the six games...The teams last played in OKC May 13-18, 2021 with the River Cats winning the series, 4-2. They outscored the Dodgers, 40-20, and outhit OKC, 55-38...Since OKC became affiliated with the Los Angeles Dodgers and the River Cats with the San Francisco Giants in 2015, Sacramento has a 16-13 edge in the Triple-A version of the Dodgers-Giants rivalry, including a 10-6 record in Bricktown.

Blue Skies Ahead: The Dodgers will take the field as Cielo Azul de Oklahoma City Friday through Sunday during ¡Celebración Cielo Azul! weekend at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. In addition to players and coaches wearing Cielo Azul jerseys and hats during the three-game series, the gameday environment during ¡Celebración Cielo Azul! will feature Latin music, colorful and festive concourse decorations, unique entertainment and concessions, live performances and a Spanish-speaking public address announcer for select games...Since 2018, the Dodgers have participated in MiLB's Copa de la Diversión, or Fun Cup, which is a season-long event series designed to embrace the culture and values that resonate most with participating teams' local U.S. Hispanic/Latino communities, including creating culturally relevant on-field personas and gameday experiences. The name Cielo Azul - translated to "Blue Sky" - was derived from three key factors: Incorporating the color blue, which is a key component of the Dodgers organization; the vibrancy of Oklahoma's blue skies, and the breadth of the diversity of Hispanic and Latino culture that resides under those skies; and as a tribute to Dodgers legendary pitcher Fernando Valenzuela, who looked up at the sky during his windup...¡Celebración Cielo Azul! will also take place Sept. 6-11 in OKC.

Summer Dip: The Dodgers return from the league break in a first-place tie with El Paso in the East Division standings as both teams lost their games Sunday. The Dodgers lost three of their final four games in Tacoma and had to settle for a series split after winning the first two games. OKC is now 5-10 in July, erasing the 6.0-game lead they had atop the division standings at the start of the month. The Dodgers owned sole possession of first place in the division from June 5-July 14...After going 10-1-3 through their first 14 series of the season, the Dodgers are 0-2-1 over their last three series...OKC has exceeded the number of losses it had in all of June when they posted an 18-8 record.

Drew Point: Drew Avans tallied three of the Dodgers' five hits Sunday in Tacoma, going 3-for-4 with a RBI as the rest of the OKC lineup went 2-for-28. He led off the game with a single and has now led off each of the last four games with a hit. Avans extended his on-base streak to 29 games, which is the longest by an OKC player this year and longest active streak in the PCL. He is one of four PCL players to have an on-base streak of 29 games or longer this season and he owns the longest on-base streak by a Dodgers player since the 2019 season when Gavin Lux reached base in 37 consecutive games...Avans is also on a season-best nine-game hitting streak, going 16-for-40 (.400). He has hit safely in 25 of the 29 games during his on-base streak and has reached base safely in 43 of his last 44 games...From the start of the season through May 31 (31 games), Avans batted .235 (20x85) with seven extra-base hits, eight RBI and 15 runs scored. Since June 1 (38 games), Avans is batting .336 (49x146) with 11 doubles, four triples, three homers, 19 RBI and 33 runs scored. He also has 16 walks during the stretch...He leads the league with seven triples this season and ranks among the league's top-10 leaders in AVG (9th, .299) and OBP (10th, .385)...Avans has stolen four bases over the last three games, pushing his team-leading total to 18 steals.

Feducciary Duty: Hunter Feduccia connected on a RBI double and scored a run Sunday as he collected one of OKC's two extra-base hits in the game. Seven of his last eight hits have gone for extra bases and he has now hit safely in each of his last six games, going 8-for-23 with five doubles, two homers, four RBI, three walks and nine runs scored. The stretch includes his first career multi-homer game and first two Triple-A home runs July 12 in Tacoma. He also has scored a run in six straight games.

The Rundown: Over the last 10 games, the Dodgers are 5-5. In the five wins, they've scored 52 runs, but in the five losses they've scored 17 runs. Following Drew Avans' RBI single in the second inning Sunday, the Dodgers went 1-for-the-last-23...In seven of their last eight losses, the Dodgers have been held to three runs or less and they have been held to five runs or less in each of their last nine losses. On the other hand, the team has scored at least six runs in each of their last seven wins...The Dodgers lead all Triple-A offenses with 424 walks this season, while their 566 runs, .365 OBP and 30 triples rank second and their .458 SLG and .823 OPS are third.

Back to the Future: Last Saturday, Miguel Vargas started for the NL in the 2022 MLB Futures Game at second base and went 0-for-1 with a walk and a run scored...Vargas has played in a team-leading 85 of the Dodgers' 90 games this season, but last Friday through Sunday were the first games Vargas did not play with OKC since May 29 against Reno at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark...Vargas leads the PCL with 100 hits and 73 runs scored and is one of 10 players across the Minors with at least 100 hits this season. Vargas' 168 total bases are second-most in PCL, while his 64 RBI are third, his 21 doubles are tied for fourth, his 48 walks are fifth and his 38 extra-base hits are tied for fifth...Vargas enters today on an eight-game hitting streak (11x33), which is his fifth hitting streak of the season of at least eight games. Vargas has also hit safely in 22 of his last 24 games, batting .351 (34x97) with 10 doubles, three homers, 20 RBI and 20 runs scored.

J-Mart Special: Jason Martin was held without a hit Sunday, snapping his five-game hitting streak (7x22, 2 HR, 9 RBI) and 13-game on-base streak. It was just the third time in the month of July he was held without a hit (14 games)...He has been one of the league's most productive hitters in July with six homers (tied for second-most in the PCL) and 15 RBI (6th). He has 15 runs scored (T-3rd) and 37 total bases (T-5th)...Martin has eight homers in his last 17 games and leads OKC with 19 home runs this season.

Hard Times on the Hill: Tacoma drew seven walks Sunday, as the Dodgers pitching staff allowed at least six walks for the 10th time in the last 15 games (86 BB). Five of the six runners who eventually scored directly reached base via walk or hit by pitch, with the other runner reaching base on a fielder's choice immediately following a walk. The Dodgers have allowed the most walks in Triple-A this season (442)...OKC allowed six runs Sunday for the third time in four games and the 114 runs allowed by the Dodgers so far in the month of July are the most in Triple-A and second-most among all full-season Minor League teams.

Around the Horn: OKC has eight stolen bases over the last three games and 10 steals over the last five games...The Dodgers are in the midst of a stretch of 15 straight games against West Division foes (5-7). OKC is 16-17 against the West Division this season, including just 6-9 at home.
