Tri-City Dust Devils News Release

The Tri-City Dust Devils are going to the 2011 Northwest League Playoffs after clinching the Northwest League East Division first-half title earlier this week. Since they won the first-half title, the Dust Devils had the option to choose whether to host the first game or the final two games of the best-of-three first round divisional playoff series. With this option the club has decided to host game two and, if necessary, game three of the Northwest League East Division Championship Series on September 6th and 7th. If the Dust Devils win the East Division title, they will host the first game of the NWL Championship Series on September 9th.

"We've been playing so well at home that it made sense," said Dust Devils manager Freddie Ocasio. "Anyone that wants to get past us has to come here and beat us."

Playoff ticket packages will go on sale Friday July 29th at 9 a.m. at the Dust Devils box office. Ticket packages, which consist of a ticket to every game played at Gesa Stadium, will be available for $8 per game in the lower box and $7 in the upper box. Current season ticket and mini-plan holders will receive the first right of refusal on their current seats. Individual playoff game tickets will go on sale August 20th. Prices will be the same as for regular season games, which are $9 for lower box, $8 for upper box, and $6 for general admission adults and $5 for general admission kids, seniors, and military.

The Dust Devils will play one of their East Division rivals in the first round, depending on the second half standings. Tri-City will face the winner of the East Division second half, unless the Dust Devils win it, in which case they will play the team in the East Division with the next best winning percentage throughout the entirety of the season.

The Dust Devils return to Gesa Stadium tonight to begin a five game series with the Vancouver Canadians. It is the lone visit from Vancouver this season, who fell short of winning the West Division title due to a tie-breaker with the Eugene Emeralds. You can get your seat by calling the front office at (509) 544-8789 or by visiting dustdevilsbaseball.com.
