Boise Hawks News Release

PASCO, Wash. - Christian Bergman tossed seven shutout inning and Brian Humphries went 3-for-3 with three runs scored, helping the Tri-City Dust Devils complete a three-game sweep of the Boise Hawks, taking the series finale, 3-0, at Gesa Stadium.

Humphries led off the game with a double off the left field wall, scoring on a Tyler Massey ground out to give Tri-City a 1-0 lead. The former Pepperdine outfielder roped a solo homer to right in the third, his second home run this season against Boise pitching, making it 2-0. The Dust Devils added a run in the sixth on a Tim Smalling RBI single, scoring Humphries, to had a one-out double.

It was enough for Bergman, who recorded his fourth-straight start of seven or more innings without allowing an earned run - as Tri-City recorded their ninth shutout of the season, one off the Northwest League record. The Dust Devils did not allow a runner to third base in the win.

Boise got a quality start from Yao-Lin Wang, allowing two runs on two hits in five innings, striking out eight in a losing effort. Reggie Golden went 2-for-3 for the Hawks, who dropped their seventh-straight game away from Memorial Stadium and fell to a NWL worst 6-21 on the road this season.

The Hawks return home tomorrow, opening an eight-game homestand with five games vs. the Eugene Emeralds. Jose Rosario gets the start against the West Division first half champs at 7:15 p.m.
