
Boise Hawks Partner with Susan G. Komen for the Cure

BOISE, ID- The Boise Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure(r) is teaming up with the Boise Hawks this summer. Help strike out breast cancer by attending the first annual "Swing for the Cure" Event on Friday, August 12. Gather your friends, family and of course your favorite pink outfit, to cheer on the Boise Hawks to victory!
This event is a way to create breast cancer awareness while also raising valuable funds for programs that reach local women in need. 75% of the funds raised stay in the 19 county service area while the remaining 25% are used for ground breaking research grants that help find the cures.
Tickets are $30 per person to attend, and $5 from each ticket purchased will go directly to the Boise Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The ticket purchase includes an all-you-can-eat and drink buffet in the Boise Hawks Picnic Area, an autograph session with select Boise Hawks players before the game, and your ticket into Friday night's game. The buffet will start at 6:15 PM and finish at 7:15 PM, and will include grilled chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, ice cream sandwiches, chips, unlimited soft drinks and beer. After the picnic, fans will be able to stay in the Hawks Nest Picnic area and enjoy the game and fireworks!

The Hawks began Northwest League play as an independent club from 1987-89. The team was affiliated with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim from 1990-2000 and have been with the Chicago Cubs since 2001. The club has won 6 NWL Championships, the most recent banner coming in 2004.
