Lancaster Stormers News Release

J.D. Durbin fired eight solid innings, and everyone in the lineup contributed at least one hit as the Lancaster Barnstormers dropped the Bridgeport Bluefish, 10-2, Tuesday evening at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

Lancaster's lead over second place York stands at 5 1/2 games.

Durbin (3-4) allowed seven hits and two runs in his stint. The right-hander walked and struck out only one each.

Lancaster grabbed a quick 3-0 lead in the second. Emerson Frostad picked up a one-out walk from Tobi Stoner (1-8), and Jaime Pedroza followed with a two-run homer to right. One out later, Kody Kirkland drilled a double to right center and scored on Brad Boyer's line drive single to center.

Bridgeport threatened in the fourth. Prentice Redman doubled to left and moved to third on a single to center by Brock Peterson. Durbin got Luis Lopez to rap into a 6-4-3 double play as a run scored. It was as close as the Bluefish would get.

Lancaster broke the game open in the bottom of the fifth. After Blake Gailen led off with a walk, Terry Tiffee stroked a potential double play grounder to short which eluded Eddie Rogers for an error as Gailen raced to third. Fehlandt Lentini grounded a single up the middle to drive home one, and Frostad sliced a two-run double into the left field corner, adding two more. Frostad would scored on a single bounced up the middle by Ryan Harvey for a 7-1 lead.

Tiffee doubled home two more with a bullet inside first base in the sixth and scored on an error.

James Simmons was 2-for-4 with a homer for the Bluefish.

The two clubs meet again on Wednesday evening at 7:00. Lancaster will send Dwayne Pollok (3-0) to the hill against Jonah Bayliss (1-2). Bayliss was last season's closer for the Barnstormers. The game will be aired on 1390-AM, WLAN; 1600-AM, WPDC; 1390wlan.com and the I Heart Radio cell phone app, beginning at 6:45.
