Durbin Dominates, Lynx Win
May 20, 2007 - International League (IL1)
Ottawa Lynx News Release
After being blanked by Pawtucket last night, it was the Lynx turn to have a pitching gem, courtesy of starter J.D. Durbin. Durbin held the Paw Sox off the scoreboard until the top of the ninth and struck out six on his way to his first win of the season. The Lynx got all the offence they would need in the bottom of the third inning, cashing in a pair of runs. Chris Roberson got on base through a one-out walk and moved to second base on Joe Thurston's single. Lou Collier brought Roberson home on an RBI single before Gary Burnham drove Thurston home on a single of his own. The Lynx were held off the board for the rest of the game but Durbin, with a 9th-inning assist from Matt Smith, made those two runs hold up as the Lynx evened their series with Pawtucket at a game apiece.
