RICHMOND, VA - The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees beat the Richmond Braves 13-4 at The Diamond Sunday. The Yankees piled up 20 hits as they inflicted back to back home losses on the Braves for the first time this season before a season high crowd of 10,224.

The Yankees took advantage of two errors on the same play to score twice in the top of the first inning. Richmond rallied back to tie it on a Graham Koonce two run homer in the bottom half. Raul Chavez answered with a two run homer in the second to put the Yankees in front to stay. Scranton tacked on a run in the third to make it 5-2 on an RBI single by Alberto Gonzalez. Chavez smacked his second home run and Andy Phillips knocked in a run in the fourth as the Yankees opened up a 7-2 lead. The Braves picked up a run in the fourth the hard way with three hit batters. Koonce knocked in a run with a sac fly in the fifth to cut the Yankees lead to 7-4. But Phillips chased a run home with a sac fly in the sixth. Angel Chavez doubled two home in the seventh and Kevin Thompson tripled a run home to make it 11-4. The Yankees added two more runs in the eighth on an RBI single by Eric Duncan and a sac fly by Kevin Reese.
