El Paso Chihuahuas News Release
The Reno Aces collected 21 hits in their 17-4 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas Friday night at Southwest University Park. The teams have split the first four games of the series.
El Paso's runs came on a solo home run by Mason McCoy, and a solo and two-run homer from Clay Dungan. It was McCoy's second straight game with a home run and Dungan's first multi-homer game since April 3, 2024 against Round Rock. Dungan now has seven home runs this season and four have come in the last five games. Chihuahuas right fielder Forrest Wall went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk to move his on-base streak to 16 games.
El Paso backup catcher Jack Mathey came in to pitch in the ninth inning and he allowed three runs. It was Mathey's first professional pitching appearance and the first time a Chihuahuas position player pitched since Mike Brosseau on May 13 at Las Vegas. Reno's 21 hits were the most allowed by the Chihuahuas in a game this season.
