Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp News Release

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Miami Marlins announced a transaction that impacts their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp roster prior to tonight's games against the Mobile BayBears at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville at 5:05 p.m.

Right-handed starting pitcher Robert Dugger has been transferred from High-A Jupiter to Jacksonville. Dugger was 3-1 with a 2.40 ERA in his seven starts with the Hammerheads, striking out 34 batters in his 41 and a third innings of work. Dugger is scheduled to make his Double-A debut tomorrow night for the Jumbo Shrimp in the fourth game of the BayBears series in Jacksonville.

Dugger is regarded by Baseball America as the Marlins No. 23 prospect entering the 2018 season. Dugger was acquired by the Marlins in a trade with the Seattle Mariners on Dec. 7, 2017 along with Chris Torres and fellow Jacksonville starter Nick Neidert in exchange for Dee Gordon. Dugger, 22, was originally selected by the Mariners in the 18th round of the 2016 draft out of Texas Tech.

The Jumbo Shrimp continue their series with Mobile in a 5:05 p.m. doubleheader Friday. Jacksonville right-handers Pablo Lopez (0-1) and Kolton Mahoney (2-2) are scheduled to pitch Games 1 and 2, respectively. Fans may visit any participating NAPA AutoCare Center to get a FREE general admission ticket (reserved seat upgrade available at the box office) for the doubleheader that concludes with NAPA AutoCare Family Fireworks. The Jumbo Shrimp wear red "Bold City" jerseys to support the military on Red Shirt Friday, when fans who wear red can save $1 per ticket at the box office or donate the $1 to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. Friday Night Lites Miller Lite Happy Hour offers $1 12-oz. Miller Lite and $1 off craft beer specials in the Craft Cave by the third-base gates until 7:30 p.m. The game is presented by 99.9 Gator Country.
