Long Island Ducks News Release
(York, Penn., May 21, 2015) - The Long Island Ducks defeated the York Revolution 6-1 on Thursday afternoon in the finale of a three-game series at Santander Stadium.
The Ducks struck first in the third inning on a RBI single to left-center field by Bryan Sabatella off of Revolution starter Matt Neil. Blake Davis doubled the lead to two with a sacrifice fly to center in the fourth.
Long Island plated three more runs in the sixth to increase their advantage to 5-0. A RBI single by Delta Cleary, Jr., a sac fly to center off the bat of Dillon Haupt and a run-scoring passed ball did the damage. A sac fly from Cleary, Jr. in the eighth upped the score to 6-0. York scratched out a run in the ninth on Eric Patterson's RBI double, but that was all they could muster.
Mickey Jannis (2-2) earned the win, tossing seven innings of relief, allowing just one run on six hits and two walks while striking out six. Neil (1-1) suffered the loss, surrendering two runs on five hits and a walk with four strikeouts in four innings. Ducks starter Billy Buckner did not factor into the decision but pitched two innings, giving up three hits and a walk while striking out two in his debut with the Flock.
Cleary, Jr. led the Ducks with three hits and two RBI at the plate. Jon Griffin added two hits and two runs.
