York Revolution News Release

Wednesday night's game looked as though it would be a laugher for the York Revolution early on, but the Long Island Ducks used a huge fourth inning to come back in stunningly quick fashion, topping the Revs 11-9 at Santander Stadium. The Revs will look to rebound and avoid a sweep on Thursday morning at 11 a.m.

The Revs built an 8-1 lead through three innings, only to see the Ducks pile up a nine-run fourth inning before the scoring mostly stalled for the rest of the night.

Long Island grabbed a first inning lead on an RBI double to left from Jon Griffin for the game's first run.

York immediately answered as Eric Patterson nailed a two-run homer to right and Andres Perez launched a solo home run to left for the Revs' first back-to-back home runs of the season, taking a 3-1 lead. Long Island starter Mark Rogers was lifted after the first inning, allowing three runs on two hits and three walks, throwing just 13 of 33 pitches for strikes.

Patterson connected on another two-run homer to right field in the second, upping the lead to 5-1. It was Patterson's second career multi-homer game with the Revs.

Johan Limonta added a two-run homer onto the lawn in right-center in the third, while another run came across on a double play to make it 8-1.

The Ducks did the vast bulk of their damage in the fourth, sending 13 batters to the plate and racking up nine hits to score nine times, marking the biggest inning against the Revs since the 2012 season. It helped complete the biggest comeback by a visiting team in Santander Stadium history. Reegie Corona ripped an RBI single and Lew Ford smacked a two-run single with one out in the inning, chasing York starter Anthony Lerew in his shortest start of the season, exiting still ahead, 8-4. Cody Puckett, Griffin, and Prentice Redman greeted reliever Beau Vaughan (1-1) with RBI singles, and with two outs, Erik Komatsu lined a game-tying RBI single to right-center and Dan Lyons gave the Ducks the lead with a two-run triple to right-center.

York got one back in the home half of the fourth on a two-out RBI single to left from Luis De La Cruz, but the Ducks recouped that run in the fifth on a groundout by Griffin who picked up his third RBI of the game. Neither team scored the rest of the night.

Ducks reliever Tommy Organ (1-0) became the pitcher of record when his team took the lead in the fourth, earning the win after allowing one run in one inning. He was one of nine relievers used by the Ducks, who used eight bullpen arms the previous night. Ryan Kussmaul finished it in the ninth with his seventh save.
