Long Island Ducks News Release

(York, Penn., June 3, 2013) - The Long Island Ducks defeated the York Revolution 3-2 on Monday night in the final game of a four-game series at Sovereign Bank Stadium.

Both teams exchanged scoreless innings until the fourth when York plated two against Ducks starter Bill Murphy. Wilson Batista's RBI double and Cody Johnson's RBI single highlighted the scoring. Long Island pulled even in the sixth inning on Danny Perales' leadoff homer to right and a RBI single to center by Ben Broussard off Revolution starter Nick Green.

It stayed that way until the top of the ninth inning when the Ducks took the lead on a RBI groundout to short by Dan Lyons. York put a runner at third with one out in the bottom of the inning, but Leo Rosales stranded him there to secure the win.

Neither starter factored into the decision. Murphy tossed five innings, allowing just two runs on three hits while striking out three and Green tossed six and two-thirds innings, yielding two runs on six hits with five strikeouts. Jared Lansford (2-1) got the win by pitching a perfect eighth inning while Edward Paredes (0-1) suffered the loss, allowing an unearned run on one hit and two walks in one and two-thirds inning. Rosales earned his ninth save with a scoreless ninth.

Broussard led the Ducks with two hits while Adam Bailey extended his on-base streak to 21 games and his hitting streak to 14.

Game time is slated for 7:05 p.m. from The Ballpark at Harbor Yard. Right-hander Nick DeBarr takes the mound for the Ducks against Bluefish righty Michael Colla.
