
Drive Stop Gnats Streak with 5-1 Win Monday

The Greenville Drive stopped the Gnats winning streak at four with a 5-1 victory Monday night at Historic Grayson Stadium.
However the Drive couldn't stop Sam Honeck who was 2-4 to extend his hitting streak to eight games and maintain his .500 batting average for the season.
Honeck doubled in the first inning and reached on an infield single in the eighth inning.
In his eight-game hitting streak, he is hitting .500 (16-for-32) with seven doubles, a home run and nine RBI.
For the season, Honeck is also hitting .500 (21 H/42 AB).
The Drive (7-5) led the whole way Monday after picking up a single run in the top of the first off Savannah starter Greg Peavey on SS Jose Garcia's bloop single into right field.
The Drive added a run in the top of the second on an RBI ground out by CF Felix Sanchez to make it 2-0.
The Gnats (5-6) scored their only run of the game in the third inning.
LF Alonzo Harris reached on an infield single, was pushed to second on a walk drawn by SS Robbie Shields and came around to score on CF Cory Vaughn's RBI ground out to shortstop.
Greenville put the game away with three runs, one in the fifth and two in the seventh, off Gnats reliever Luis Rojas.
The Gnats will begin a five-game series against the Lexington Legends, South Atlantic League affiliate of the Houston Astros, Tuesday night.
Savannah will send RHP Ryan Fraser (0-1, 2.57) to the hill against Lexington's RHP Tanner Bushue (2-0, 2.57). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm and gates will open at 6 pm.
