Greenville Drive News Release

Greenville, SC - The Greenville Drive yet again dominated against the Asheville tourists winning 17-3 in the second game of the six game away series. Ceddanne Rafaela got things rolling the same way he did last night with a double. He was also the first to score out of the total 17 runs scored by the Drive. Nick Yorke also scored in the first inning on a flyball to right field.

Drive starting pitcher Chih-Jung Liu had a home run hit off him by Michael Sandle in the first. The next run of the game was obtained the same way except this time it was off the bat of Will Wagner in the bottom of the third.

Greenville found a rhythm in the top of the fifth inning. Rafaela hit a double and Nick Yorke rotated him around with a single. Alex Binelas knocked one out and brought Yorke home with him.

Ryan Zeferjahn relieved Liu in the bottom of the fifth, and this was the first pitching change for the Drive, and he allowed no runs in the fifth. Stephen Scott was the first of five Drive runs in the sixth inning. Nick Decker, Tyler McDonough, Rafaela, and Binelas all scored following Scott. McDonough found home again in the seventh inning.

In the eighth, the bats remained hot for the Drive. Gilberto Jimenez reached on a fielding error by third baseman Deury Carrasco. Nicholas Northcut hit a homer scoring two runs. Scott got on base by a single and would round home on McDonough's double. McDonough also scored. The Drive headed into the ninth inning with 17 runs and ended the game with a 17-3 victory.

The Greenville Drive will play the Asheville Tourists away tomorrow with first pitch slated for 6:35 PM.
