Greenville, SC - A terrific pitching performance from Trey Ball plus a big second inning at the plate gave the Greenville Drive (13-32, 47-67) everything they needed on Tuesday night, as they defeated the Augusta GreenJackets (20-25, 54-59) 8-4 for their second straight victory.

Ball (2-9) allowed just one earned run on four hits in six innings with four strikeouts to pick up his first victory since April 27th.

The Drive sent 10 batters to the plate in a five-run second inning that saw them take a 5-2 lead against Joan Gregorio (2-4). Sam Travis reached on an error to begin the frame, and things took off from there. Following a flyout, Kevin Mager and Cole Sturgeon each lined singles, with Sturgeon's plating Travis to put the Drive on the board.

Later in the inning, Jimmy Rider drew a bases-loaded walk to tie the game, and Manuel Margot followed with an RBI groundout to put the Drive up 3-2. Tzu-Wei Lin then reached on an RBI infield single, and another Augusta error on the throw to first plated the fifth run of the inning.

Augusta went up 2-0 in the top of the second against Ball thanks to RBI hits from Will Callaway and Rando Moreno.

Franklin Guzman gave the Drive two more runs in the seventh when he lined a two-run single to left field, and Margot added another RBI in the eighth with a single. He went 2-5 with two RBIs to lead the Greenville offense, while Mager and Sturgeon each collected a pair of hits.

Callaway ended up with two hits and two RBI for Augusta following his RBI triple in the top of the eighth.

The Drive will send RH Jamie Callahan (2-10, 6.43) to the mound on Wednesday night against Augusta LH Luis Ysla (6-5, 2.23) as they look to complete a series sweep. First pitch at Fluor Field is set for 7:05.
