Calgary, AB - Calgary Hitmen goaltender Chris Driedger made 41 saves in a 4-2 victory over the Red Deer Rebels Sunday afternoon at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Driedger recorded his fourth win in as many starts for a season total of 13.
Chase Clayton led the Hitmen with two goals, including one shorthanded marker in the opening frame. Jimmy Bubnick, with his team-leading 21st goal, and Victor Rask, on an empty net opportunity, also scored for Calgary.
Brooks Macek chipped in a pair of helpers while Rask, Trevor Cheek, Calder Brooks, Peter Kosterman and Collin Bowman each picked up an assist.
After winning ten of their last 11 games, Calgary sits seventh in the WHL Eastern Conference with 55 points, eight points ahead of eighth place Brandon and one point behind sixth place Regina.
The Hitmen welcome the Brandon Wheat Kings Wednesday, January 25 and the Vancouver Giants Friday, January 27. Puck drop for both games is 7:00 p.m. at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
