Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that INF Drew Leachman has been placed on the 7-day disabled list, retroactive to April 5th. Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.
The Twins selected Leachman in the 37th round of the 2011 First Year Player Draft out of Birmingham Southern College. He played in the Kernels season opener on April 4th, going 0-5 with an RBI.
With today's transaction, the Kernels roster is at 24 active players, one shy of the MWL maximum of 25, with one player currently on the disabled list.
The Kernels continue a four game home stand on Saturday afternoon against the Beloit Snappers at 2:05 pm. Gates open at 1:00 pm.
