Burlington Bees News Release

The Bees put together their highest run total of the season, but the Clinton Lumberkings hit five home runs en route to an 11-5 win on Saturday evening at Community Field.

The wind was blowing out on Saturday night, but unfortunately it only helped one team, as the Clinton Lumberkings blasted five home runs. The first inning saw Clinton hit four round trippers, including a back-to-back-to-back job by Dario Pizanno, Guillermo Pimentel and Patrick Kivlehan. Arjenis Fernandez drew the start for Burlington and struggled, giving up seven runs, but rebounded to only allow an unearned run after the first frame.

The Bees bats knocked out Clinton starter, Matt Anderson, in the third inning, scoring five runs off him in 2.1 innings. In the second inning, Sandy Martinez had a sacrifice fly to score Brennan Gowens, while Pedro Toribio smacked a RBI triple to bring home Kevin Moesquit.

Burlington got three more in the third inning thanks to RBIs from Michael Bolaski, Gowens and Chevy Clarke.

The Lumberkings bullpen combined to throw 6.2 innings of scoreless baseball, allowing just two hits in the process.

The two teams will meet for the final game of the four-game series at 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Make sure to come out to Community Field and root for your Bees.
