Drake White & the Big Fire Headline BIG Country Bash Concert
June 12, 2015 - Texas League (TL1)
Northwest Arkansas Naturals News Release
SPRINGDALE, Ark. - The Northwest Arkansas Naturals, along with media partner KIX 104 are excited to announce that Drake White & The Big Fire, a Dot Records artist, will be performing a live post-game country concert following the Naturals 6:05 p.m. game against the Midland RockHounds on Saturday, July 11 as part of BIG Country Bash presented by Castrol & KIX 104.
White, a country singer and songwriter from Hokes Bluff, Alabama has a rustic, southern sound and was recently named one of Billboard Magazine's 10 Hot Country Artists to Watch in 2015 and dubbed "an electric performer with a gospel howl" by Rolling Stone Country. He also made Rolling Stone's list of the 37 Best Things We Saw at CMA Fest 2014.
Drake has been honing his sound on the road for years with his own band, The Big Fire. Their music is a mix of electric and acoustic guitar, bass and drums laying a thick groove, mandolin and fiddle swirling through the air with organ hovering above it all that resembles a harmony of a gospel choir. White's sound is both familiar and modern, following in the mold of the likes of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, The Allman Brothers Band, and modern artists like Eric Church and Zac Brown Band.
White turned his attention full-time to music after being signed by MCA Nashville. He released his debut single, "Simple Life", on the label in early 2013 and then was signed by Dot Records in June 2014 and has since released his current single "It Feels Good". The "Simple Life" reached number 36 on the US Country Airplay chart while "It Feels Good" has reached 46.
BIG Country Bash is presented by Castrol courtesy of media partner KIX 104 and Dot Records. It will mark the third consecutive year that the Naturals will host a BIG Country Bash event. Gates will open at 4:30pm for Happy Hour and then the Naturals will play the RockHounds at 6:05 p.m. The concert will take place immediately following the game and the stage will be setup on the grassy area beyond the concourse in left centerfield, located between the Bud Light Bullpen Café and the Infiniti Athletics kid's playground, and fans are welcome to gather out there following the conclusion of the game.
Tickets are on sale now and will range from $8-$14, which will include the Naturals game and the post-game concert.
