FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The TinCaps fell to the Dayton Dragons (Cincinnati Reds affiliate), 10-2, on Wednesday night at Parkview Field.
Dayton (13-29, 52-56) scored an unearned run in the top of the first inning and never looked back on a night when Fort Wayne (18-26, 45-65) committed a season-worst five errors. The Dragons scored at least one run in each of the first five frames to build a 9-0 lead.
The 'Caps finally scored in the home fifth as first baseman Cole Cummings drew a bases-loaded walk. Then in the eighth, designated hitter Carlos Luis knocked an RBI single -- one of two hits for him on the night -- to make it 9-2. However, the Dragons tacked on their third unearned run of the game in the ninth.
