Dragons Place Cisco on Disabled List

DAYTON, OHIO-The Dayton Dragons announced the following roster changes today:

Right-handed pitcher Drew Cisco has been placed on the disabled list with a right shoulder strain, retroactive to August 23.

Right-handed pitcher Nick Fleece has been promoted to Dayton from Billings (Class: Rookie, Pioneer League)

The Dragons roster remains at the Midwest League limit of 25 players.

Cisco has made 24 starts for the Dragons this season, going 5-7 with a 3.86 earned run average. He leads the Midwest League in fewest walks per nine innings (16 walks in 130.2 innings).

Fleece has pitched in 17 games out of the Billings bullpen, going 0-2 with a 3.50 ERA. Fleece missed the 2012 season after undergoing shoulder surgery. He was the Cincinnati Reds 13th round draft pick in 2011 out of Texas A&M.

Fleece played four years of college baseball at Texas A&M, converting full-time to pitcher from the outfield after his sophomore season. Fleece had an outstanding senior season in 2011 as the Aggies advanced to the College World Series and were ranked at one time as the #5 team in the country. He went 7-1 with a 1.41 ERA in 36 games with three saves and pitched in both CWS games that Texas A&M appeared in. Fleece was a tremendous two-way high school player. He hit .515 with 15 home runs as a high school senior and was named by Baseball America as the #15 prospect in the state of Texas.
