Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Lake County Captains (affiliate of the Cleveland Indians) in the first game of a three-game series. Season Series to Date: Dayton 7, Lake County 1.

Standings: The Dragons are in third place, seven games behind Bowling Green and six games behind Lansing with 13 games to play in the first half season.

Last Game: Sunday: Dayton 11, Lansing 8. The Dragons jumped out to an 11-1 lead through five innings and held off a Lansing comeback bid to take two-of-three in the series. The Dragons had gone 0-8 vs. Lansing on the year entering the series. Hunter Greene earned his first career victory (5 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 8 SO). The Dragons hit three home runs including back-to-backers in the first inning by Andy Sugilio and Michael Beltre before Stuart Fairchild homered in the second. The Dragons tied a season high with seven extra base hits.

2018 Team Notes

The Dragons need three home victories to tie the franchise record for most home wins in a half (25). They have four home games remaining, all against Bowling Green.

2018 Individual Notes

Hendrik Clementina is hitting .344 on the year with a .664 slugging percentage. He is tied for third in the MWL in home runs with nine and tied for eighth in RBI with 33 despite not having enough plate appearances to qualify for the batting lead. With his current averages, he would lead the league in slugging percentage and OPS, and rank third in batting average if he qualified. Clementina was named the Cincinnati Reds Minor League Hitter of the Month for May after batting .329 with seven home runs and 20 RBI in the month.

Stuart Fairchild is batting .342 over his last 22 games to raise his average from .277 to .304. He has three home runs in his last 10 games.

John Ghyzel ranks first in the MWL lead in saves with 11. In 20 appearances, he has a 1.35 ERA. He has seven straight scoreless outings, each covering exactly one inning.
