Team Notes
Last night's win gave the Dragons their first regular season series win at West Michigan since they won two-of-three at Fifth Third Ballpark, June 26-28, 2013. The Dragons won both playoff games played at West Michigan in 2017 to win that playoff series. The Dragons have not swept a regular season series at West Michigan since July 4-6, 2010. Ironically, that road series sweep came during the Dragons 24-game home losing streak in 2010.
A win tonight would give the Dragons their first three-game road series sweep in any ballpark since they swept Burlington, May 1-3, 2018.
The Dragons have posted a team earned run average of 1.00 in the series with West Michigan, allowing just two earned runs in 18 innings.
The Dragons 2.50 ERA over the last nine days ranks second in the Midwest League behind Kane County's 2.15. The Dragons have issued just 21 walks over this time period, tied for the fewest in the league.
While the Dragons rank last in the league in team ERA for the year at 4.74, they rank fourth in the league in team ERA since May 11 (24 games) at 3.71.
Dragons relievers have improved since May 1, posting an ERA of 3.43 (134 IP, 51 ER) and lowering their season ERA from 5.70 to 4.55. Dragons starting pitchers have a combined ERA of 4.94 on the year.
