Team Notes

The Dragons posted a team earned run average of 0.67 in the series with West Michigan, allowing just two earned runs in 27 innings. This was their best ERA in any series in 2019 and the first time they finished a series with an ERA of under 2.00.

The Dragons 2.22 ERA over the last 10 days ranks second in the Midwest League behind Kane County's 2.16. The Dragons total number of runs allowed during this period (29) is the fewest in the league. The Dragons have issued just 23 walks over this period, tied for the fewest in the league.

The Dragons had 13 hits with runners in scoring position in the series at West Michigan (batting .342 in those situations), the first time in 2019 they have had more than 10 hits in a series with runners in scoring position.

The Dragons stole eight bases in the three-game set at West Michigan. They had not stolen more than three bases in any series since they stole seven in a four-game set with Great Lakes, April 25-28.

Last night's win gave the Dragons their first regular season series sweep at West Michigan since July 4-16, 2010. Ironically, that road series sweep came during the Dragons 24-game home losing streak. On Wednesday, the Dragons clinched the series win, marking their first winning series in the regular season at West Michigan since they won two-of-three there, June 26-28, 2013. The Dragons won both playoff games played at West Michigan in 2017 to win that playoff series. The sweep at West Michigan was the Dragons first three-game road series sweep in any Midwest League ballpark since they swept at Burlington, May 1-3, 2018.
